Welcome Back!!

To all new MSSA members Welcome to Milwaukee! To returning members hope you enjoyed your summer. We are gearing up for another fantastic year for the MSSA. We would like to also welcome our new Presidents, Scott and Necia Kagie, and thanks them for all the work they have already done to plan some wonderful activities. Our first activity is the “Welcome Social.” We hope to see you there!

We also are going to be getting a MSSA intramural team together for co-ed flag football, basketball, softball, and volleyball. Students can play on more than one team, so convince your spouse or significant other to come play on the MSSA team with you!!! Flag football is the first sport and they usually have games on Saturdays. Please email mcwmssa@gmail.com if you are interested in being on the team or contact Kjirstin Roberts. Thanks and we are excited for a fun season.

Spring!

Aren't you glad it is Spring? I always feel so relieved at this time of year!

On a random side note, I also usually lose my keys several times at this time of year. I think it's because I keep them in my coat pocket during the winter.

To new authors and leaders, welcome! Feel free to post anything you think would be fun or interesting or informative.

The Big Backyard with RSA

Bring your little monkeys. Let's have some fun!

The Resident Spouse Association of MCW has invited us to join them for their Spring Party at The Big Backyard in New Berlin. This is a giant indoor playground with areas specially designed for kids ages 0-8. RSA is covering rental costs and providing pizza and drinks.

We are very excited to get to know the RSA better and have another fun activity especially for the kids. If you don't have kids, you are still more than welcome to come!

Saturday Night Fever

Saturday Night Fever is coming up next month, March 28th! It is a semi-formal, grown-ups only dance for couples and anyone else who'd like to join us. We have got a great band coming, and of course, there'll be food. Here's the info; go get your calendar!

Date: Saturday, March 28
Time: 7 pm to 10 pm
Place: Alumni Center at MCW

Tickets are $4 per person if purchased or pre-ordered before March 28th, and $5 at the door. Contact Julie Brinkerhoff using our email address, mcwmssa@gmail.com, or visit her office at MCW: M2975. We will also probably have a lunchtime ticket sale, but we haven't scheduled it yet.

We are very excited about this activity, and hope that it will be a great way for spouses and significant others to spend time as a couple, as well as meet each other and get to know a broader group of people at the the school.

Hi!

I just wanted to say hello and let you know that MSSA is still up and running, we're just planning ahead for the rest of the semester.

We hope you had a great break and are enjoying life, despite all of these crazy tests, ridiculous schedules, and other things our med students are experiencing. This is feeling like the hardest semester yet for my husband (2nd year, 2nd semester), so if you ever want to do something with me, there's a very good possibility that I'm available!! ;)
